Creosote Films is a U.S.-based independent production company dedicated to documentary and hybrid filmmaking. Founded by filmmakers Blake Knecht and Maddie Beckstead, Creosote supports films rooted in close collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to the people and places at the center of their stories.

Our work is drawn to the relationships between people, place, labor, and the natural world, with an interest in films that blur the boundaries between documentary observation and more formally expressive approaches. We believe in patient, intimate filmmaking and in allowing a film’s form to emerge from the people and environments that shape it.

Creosote is currently producing its first feature documentary, Aquí, en el fin del mundo.
